Another Liberty

This must be the summer of the nickel!  I seem to have found plenty of them this year!  So, the latest one, uncleaned, as found and photo'ed in the field:

Not too bad if you ask me given it is a 99 years old!  Outside of just some trace amounts of staining, you would think this puppy was silver the way it has not turned black and crusty as the last one I photo'ed for you had!

I wonder what is my coil next time?  More nickels?  It has been quite a spell since I found any silvers.....  and gold is always nice..... but hey, I still am pleased to find pennies.

That is a nice looking nickel.

I only began digging nickels when I bought my AT Pro and the earliest nickel I've found was a 1945 Washington nickel. I keep hoping for something like this. I'll keep trying.

this one came from really close to a foundation and under the eaves so was protected from the elements! big trees would be another good place, as long as they are not pine or oak - very acidic!

That is a VERY handsome Nickel. Mine always look like they've been through a WWII bombing raid.
